TLIID #161: Dr. Strange, M.D. by johntrumbull
TLIID #161: Dr. Strange, M.D.
I just realized that I never posted this piece on DA... So here's a blast from the past!

The Line It Is Drawn #161 for 10/18/13! This week's theme was comic strip/comic book mashups. I chose to do Marvel's Dr. Strange as Rex Morgan, M.D. This panel is of course an homage to a Steve Ditko panel from Dr. Strange's origin from STRANGE TALES #115.

And yeah, I know that Rex Morgan is a multi-panel strip, but the gag worked in one, so what the hell.

Check out all the other great entries here:
TLIID #200: Brand New Super Teams! by johntrumbull
TLIID #200: Brand New Super Teams!
I made a return to TLIID for #200 and for my birthday, 8/1/14!

The theme was Brand-New Super-Teams. The rule was to make up your own super-team consisting of one Marvel character, one DC character, one character from an independent comic book company and two characters from any other form of fiction (novels, movies, whatever). I'm a big pulp fan, so I chose a team consisting of Tarzan, Tom Strong, Doc Savage, The Phantom, and The Shadow. This thing took me FOREVER, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Hope you like it!

Special thanks to letterer supreme Todd Klein for helping me get copies of logos for the Phantom and The Shadow!

Would you try to combine the characters from Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat with the heroes and Villains from the universes of DC and Marvel?
johntrumbull Featured By Owner May 11, 2012  Professional Traditional Artist
Maybe. I'd have to do some research on the Mortal Kombat & Street Fighter characters, as I didn't play too much of either of those games back in the day. But anything's possible! :)
