The Line It Is Drawn #117: The Dark Knight Shills!

This week's theme was "A Fond Farewell to Hostess". Ads for Hostess cupcakes, Twinkies and Fruit Pies were ubiquitous in comic books in the 70s and 80s, so a tribute to them seemed like an obvious theme for TLIID. I was honestly going to go with a Star Trek suggestion where Capt. Kirk defeated the Klingons with Hostess products, but then the line "Real Fruit Filling. Honest." popped into my head and I knew I had to choose the Dark Knight as my top pick for the week. I flipped through my DARK KNIGHT RETURNS trade paperback from the 80s for some additional inspiration, and VIOLA -- I had a rough script! This one was a lot of fun to do & I hope you like it!

This takes me back to all those old Hostess ads... Such a simpler time. Great job on the piece!

Man, I really don't know what to do with my last name being used descriptively like that. Is this what Rob Liefeld felt when I came up with "Liefelded" Rob, I'm sorry!!! :)
