LIID 126: Captain America and Wonder Woman! by johntrumbull LIID 126: Captain America and Wonder Woman! by johntrumbull
The Line It Is Drawn #126 for 2/14/13! The theme this week was, of course, superhero romances. I choose Captain America and Wonder Woman. I decided to depict their date as an homage to the famous LIFE magazine photo by Alfred Eisenstaedt of a sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square on VJ Day. Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

You can see all the other great LIID Valentine's goodness here: [link]

Ugh, now I really wished Disney would buy DC and this would happen.
She fits much better with Cap than with Superman.

I'm sure that Disney will own us all eventually. :)

So, she is more American than Greek by the time of their romance. An emigrant who speaks plain English and wears the colors proudly! Even as allies this could happen to unite two universes.

Hmmm... But the live action movie with batman and superman coming in 2016! Her uniform isn't red, white & blue with stars. The photo's out there on the net! It's like what gladiators actually wore back in those days. I think Marvel and DC crossover movie is still eons away

You're overthinking this a bit, I'd say. Because of her outfit, most people tend to associate WW much more with America than Greece.

makes sense when CA is fighting wars of and for american interests. but why should WW fight for america? she stays in her island comfortably, why would she involve in something which doesn't concern greek interest? so the character itself is irrational. had she a background like superman where the entire civilization is wiped out and she is the only one left who lives alone in america with her god like powers, that sort of background would make sense but already superman such like that.

Plus, since when does nationality get in the way of romance? I don't know much about American-Greek relations but both CA and WW did fought the Nazis during WW2, so if they were in the same universe then it's possible that they could have met.

Makes as much sense as how a Greek superherone would be wearing a outfit with the stars and colors of the American flag.
