I made a return to TLIID for #200 and for my birthday, 8/1/14!
The theme was Brand-New Super-Teams. The rule was to make up your own super-team consisting of one Marvel character, one DC character, one character from an independent comic book company and two characters from any other form of fiction (novels, movies, whatever). I'm a big pulp fan, so I chose a team consisting of Tarzan, Tom Strong, Doc Savage, The Phantom, and The Shadow. This thing took me FOREVER, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Hope you like it!
Special thanks to letterer supreme Todd Klein kleinletters.com/Blog/ for helping me get copies of logos for the Phantom and The Shadow, and for designing such a great logo for Tom Strong! And special thanks to my longtime buddy Loston Wallace, for giving me some valuable advice during the penciling stage!
FYI: The Tarzan head is a Joe Kubert homage, the Phantom head is a Sy Barry homage, the Shadow head is a Michael Kaluta homage, and the Doc Savage head is a James Bama homage.
